Delbert Hughes (1905-1982) spent most of his adult life as a coal miner in Southern West Virginia. He played the fiddle since his childhood in Kentucky. This recording presents 30 regional fiddle tunes played in Delbert’s unique Appalachian style. They were recorded at his home, mostly by Delbert himself.
The MP3 tunes on this disk may be played on modern CD players and on computers. The disk also contains Word and PDF files with notes and photographs. An added bonus are two rare film clips of Delbert playing old-time tunes at the WV State Folk Festival. AHR-015113
