Augusta Heritage Center Camping Cost and Guidelines 2018

 

Options

  • Rough Tent Camping: 11 x 15 space: $120 per person per week
  • Self-Contained RV Camping: $120 per week
  • Single night camping is not available.

Rules for Tent Camping

Rules for Tent Camping

  • Maximum of four (4) people permitted per campsite.
  • Cars must be parked in McDonnell Center lot.
  • Quiet hours are observed from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The camping area is located near the Augusta Dance Pavilion.
  • All campers must be 18 years or older to camp; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Bathrooms and shower facilities will be available in the locker rooms at the George A. Myles Pool located on the main level in the Hermanson Center.
  • No glass containers, weapons, illegal drug paraphernalia or drugs allowed.
  • No animals will be allowed except for approved Service Animals.
  • No ground fires or open fires.
  • One cooking appliance is allowed per campsite. PROPANE ONLY. No flammable liquids allowed. Maximum amount of propane should not exceed 20 pounds and pots should not exceed 48 pounds of water capacity. Cooking appliances are only permitted for use from 7am –  10 pm (EST). Please do not leave cooking appliances unattended.
  • No structures may be erected.
  • No sky lanterns, candles, fireworks or any types of explosives.
  • No smoking, lighters, flammable lanterns or fires of any kind are allowed inside of tents.
  • All personnel and vehicles subject to search.

Rules for Self-Contained RV Camping

  • Maximum of four (4) people permitted per RV.
  • RV campers must park at the bottom of the McDonnel Center lot.
  • All campers must be 18 years or older to camp; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Bathrooms and shower facilities will be available in the locker rooms at the George A. Myles Pool located on the main level in the Hermanson Center.
  • No glass containers, weapons, illegal drug paraphernalia or drugs allowed.
  • No animals will be allowed except for approved Service Animals.
  • No ground fires or open fires.
  • All gas cans should be safety gas cans.
  • One cooking appliance is allowed per campsite. PROPANE ONLY. No flammable liquids allowed. Maximum amount of propane should not exceed 20 pounds and pots should not exceed 48 pounds of water capacity. Cooking appliances are only permitted for use from 7am –  10 pm (EST). Please do not leave cooking appliances unattended.
  • No structures may be erected.

  • There is no water, sewer or electric hook up for individual RV’s.
  • No draining of gray water or holding tank. No dumping or leaching of RV waste.
  • All personnel and vehicles subject to search.

Davis & Elkins College / Augusta Heritage Center are not responsible for any damage to personal property of campers. Campers shall assume responsibility for theft and vandalism of tent during the time of the rental period. Camper shall indemnify and hold us harmless from all loss resulting there of; including damages or loss caused by fire, water, theft or vandalism.

  • Anything illegal (example: drugs, weapons, explosives, etc.)
  • Anything disruptive (example: noisemakers, air horns, etc.)
  • Anything dangerous to others (example: weapons, fireworks, etc.)
  • Generators (only allowed in RV camping)
  • Kegs or glass containers
  • Pets (Service animals trained to assist individuals are allowed).
  • NO Drones or UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicle)
  • No 5-gallon buckets
  • NO CHARCOAL GRILLS
  • No household or upholstered furniture
  • No propane tanks LARGER than 20 lbs.
  • No gas cans LARGER than 2 gallons
  • No knives with a blade over 6 inches*
  • No hatchets
  • *Knives admissible to the campgrounds are for utility use only. All knives are subject to search and removal.

Allowed Items:

  • Outside food & beverages. NO GLASS CONTAINERS.
  • Coolers
  • One small propane (no larger than 20 lbs) cooking appliance

NOTE!! All items are subject to search and the Prohibited Items list is subject to change. D&E Office of Public Safety and Camping have final authority on all items deemed unsafe for entry.

Cancellation and Refund Information for Tuition and Housing

  • If you register and find you are unable to attend, you must notify the Augusta office by letter or email.
  • Class tuition is due in full at the time of registration.
  • Mini-course tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Students are not permitted to cancel by phone.
  • Cancellations and refund requests must be received by letter or email.
  • For cancellations received by close of business Friday, four weeks prior to the program start date, Augusta will retain ¼ of the full tuition and/or housing price. (4:30 PM Eastern – 30 days prior)
  • No refunds for cancellations received after close of business Friday, four weeks prior to the program start date. (4:30 PM Eastern – 30 days prior)
  • Cancellations received after business hours are automatically considered “next day.”
  • No refunds for cancellations on or after Sunday check-in or for an early departure.
  • All registrations are non-transferable to other students or to future year’s classes.
  • If Augusta must cancel a class, the student will be notified and issued a full refund of tuition and housing costs.
  • Augusta reserves the right to review each cancellation individually.
